Several times I have had the pleasure of attending an event put on by Paige Appel and Bash Eco Events and I regularly enjoy checking in on her blog to see what she has been up to. She really is a master at putting on events that are sustainable, gorgeous and inventive.
This past weekend I hosted a party for my son’s first birthday. Since he is a St. Patrick’s Day baby, I thought it would be fun to create a beer garden experience (first birthday parties are really for adults.) I am certain that the recession Gods would’ve struck me with lightening if I had hired a coordinator for an event like this so, left to my own devices, I just kept asking myself, what would Paige do?
To be fair, I am positive that Paige would’ve come up with much more fabulous ways to create authenticity without being thematic (which is what I was going for) but I felt pretty proud of what I put together. My only regret being that I did not think to rent some sort of eco-outdoor heater so that people could linger into the late night and continue to enjoy the Irish Stew, homemade bread and Guinness. I’m sure that Paige would’ve thought of that.
